After battling heart disease and Alzheimer’s, Charles passed away in his 87th year on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay. The son of Robert and Margaret Kerr, Irish immigrants, Charlie loved to tell the tale of his father who missed a voyage on the Titanic due to illness. Charles grew up in the Bathurst area of Toronto, and attended Central Tech and Ryerson, deciding on carpentry as his career. He loved to make things. Charles will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rosemary Kerr (nee Braidwood), his sons, Michael (wife - Catherine, and daughter Charlotte (Daymon Ferguson)), and Sean (Angela Davis, and his children Thomas Charles and Alora (Levi Sheffield)). A wonderful, private celebration of his life was held, by the family, on Saturday, January 30, 2016 in Cobourg. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. As he liked to say, “Have a good rest,” Charlie.
