Surrounded by the love of his family, Ken slipped quietly away on the morning of December 5, 2015, after a protracted battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He leaves behind his heartbroken wife Val, son Jason (Donna), daughter Lale, and grandson Tristan. He is also sadly missed by his sister Yvonne West. Predeceased by his sister Lorry and his brother Alfred. Lovingly remembered by nieces Donna (Nick), Sandra, Marj (Brigitt), Bonnie (Rich) and nephews Ken and Roland (Beverley), and mother-in-law Freda. His wife Val wishes to express her profound gratitude to the staff at the Golden Plough Lodge and Dr. Teresa Reynolds for their consistent, expert and loving care especially in the final days. Your wise and gentle counsel was invaluable. You will never know how much that meant to all of us. Ken was a man who loved his family above all, enjoyed travelling, a good glass of wine and an endless supply of crossword puzzles. He was a great dancer, always faithful to his favourite sports teams and was forever trying to improve his golf game. He fought a good fight and is now at peace. Sleep well darling. As per his wishes, Ken has been cremated. A private celebration of Ken’s life will be held by the family at a later date. In memory of Ken please consider donations to the Parkinson Society.
