At Peterborough Regional Health Centre, on Saturday, July 4, 2015. Rosemary Jones, beloved wife of the late Bob Jones, cherished mother of Elizabeth (and the late Kevin Sheffit), and Jennie and Andrew Eaton, and loving granny to Robin and Alice Eaton; dear sister of Connie and George Cunningham; sister-in-law of Tom (and the late Ruth) Bulger of Oshawa, and Doug (and the late Jean) Knowler of Penticton. To honour Rosemary's wishes, private family arrangements have been made. In lieu of a eulogy, I offer the following personal note: My mother Rosemary Jones passed away unexpectedly after emergency surgery last week. The shock of her sudden death has overwhelmed the entire family of relatives and friends who loved her. Those of you who knew her are aware that she absolutely did not want any kind of service after her death; I am grateful that she made this part of it, at least, easy. My mum loved crosswords, numbers, music (especially opera), books, art, good food, nice clothes. Her love for animals and nature knew no bounds. She was naturally curious, very intelligent, very funny, and very compassionate. She was shy but loved people. She was thrilled to have granddaughters, wept holding their brand new bodies in her arms, and amused them endlessly with funny faces, sounds, and songs. Her friends and colleagues will remember her as clever, effective and determined. I will remember her that way too. But much, much more, I will remember her for providing me with a life where every minute of every day, I knew without a doubt that I was deeply and profoundly loved.
