Leta (nee Wansbrough) passed away peacefully in her 88th year at Extendicare in Port Hope on Tuesday January 20, 2015. Predeceased by her loving husband of over 54 years Keith Torrie (Mac). Leta will be remembered as a devoted mother by her children Glenn (Elaine), Alan (Susan), Ralph (Judy), Paul (Mary Jane), Neil (Kaye), Joan, Ian (Christine), Brian (Gillian) and Susan (John). She is the cherished grandmother to Sarah, Rachel, Mark, Alexandra, Lauren, Alison (Geoff), Jake, Ryan (Victoria), Keith, Sean, Ellen, David, Grace, Joseph, Ross, Alice, Malcolm, Robert and Laura and great grandmother to Nathan. She will be missed by a large extended family including her sister Irma Kadela (Stan), nieces Sonia and Zenia (David), her cousin Ross Binnington and dear family friend Khanh Le. For over fifty years hers was a lively, welcoming home filled with not just her own family but always open to friends and newcomers who became like family. A special thank you to the staff at Extendicare and Karen Baksh for their care. Friends will be received at MacCoubrey Funeral Home 30 King St. E., Cobourg on Saturday January 24, 2015 from 12:30 to 2 pm with a service to follow in the chapel at 2 pm.
