McFarlane, Mary McLaren (nee Hill) – Peacefully in her 91st year at Northumberland Hills Hospital on March 31, 2014, with her loving family by her side. Beloved wife of the late John (Mac) McFarlane. Cherished mother of Ian McFarlane (Jayshree Amin), David McFarlane, Cameron (Faye) McFarlane, Beth (Paul) Lawson and Tamara (Peter) Dunn. Loving grandmother of Georgina (James) Brouwer, Lauren McFarlane (Michael Thompson), Joseph and Mary Beth Dunn, and Olivia and Madison Lawson. Dear great-grandmother of Wesley and Elise Brouwer. Mary was gracious, kind and selfless, whose love and generosity will be greatly missed. She also made the best chocolate cupcakes and raisin oatmeal cookies. Mary was a Life Member of Camborne UCW, a Northumberland Hills Hospital Auxiliary member, and a retired office administrator for the Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit. Visitation will be held at MacCoubrey Funeral Home (30 King Street East, Cobourg) on Friday, April 4, 2014 from 7-9 pm. A memorial service will be held at Camborne United Church (3414 Burnham Street North, Camborne) on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 1pm. Donations may be made to the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation, the Camborne United Church, or a charity of your choice. A special thank you to the doctors and nurses in the emergency unit of the Northumberland Hills Hospital.
