Peacefully at the Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg on Sunday February 17th, 2013, Alex Sammut at 81 years of age. Beloved spouse of Audrey Smith (nee Parker). Dear father of Paul Sammut (Heather Stuart), Julie Pearce, and Peter Sammut (Meg). Cherished grandfather of Paul Jr., Elizabeth, Adam, Rachel, Jessica (Joshua), Jaclyn, Jazmin, Alex, Andrew, Emily, and great grandfather of Joshua, Jonathan and Jade. Step-father of Patrick Smith, Lona Deegan (Tim), the late Isle, the late Richard, and step-grandfather of Marshall, Gregory, and Shaeleen. Brother of Mary (John), Helen (Chris), Juliet (Bruce), George (Mary), Peter, and Joan (Sam). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church (corner of Division and University in Cobourg) on Friday, February 22, at 2 pm. Interment to follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Visitation to be held at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. E. in Cobourg on Friday prior to Mass from 12:30 until 1:30 pm.
