MAGUIRE, Marion Edith (nee Hewitt) – Peacefully at Northumberland Hills Hospital on Thursday, 15th of November, 2012 in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Aloysius Gerard (Mickey) Maguire. Daughter of the late Daisey and William Hewitt. Loving mother of Christopher Maguire (Elizabeth), Catherine Kennedy (Mike), Jim Maguire (Nancy), Michael Maguire (Eliza), Rosemarie Cromlish (Dave) and Sandralee McEwen (Scott). Grandmother of Tomi-Jo, Matthew, Kristina, Garth, Brianna, Richard, Carlie-Ann, Jenilee, Ian, Katie and the late Aaron. Great grandmother of Anika Sophia and Zachary Aaron“Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile.” Born in London, England and served as an Air Raid Warden during the Blitz during WW2. Marion married Mickey during the War and came to Canada as a proud War Bride. She raised 6 children and loved them all as she has with her Grandchildren. She was a Great Mother, Poet, Artist and member of the Catholic Women’s League. She is now at peace with her Mickey and of course her dog, the faithful companion, “Benji”. A life truly lived. To the compassionate and professional staff at the Northumberland Hills Hospital, the family says Thank You. Friends are invited to call at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St., E., Cobourg on Monday, November 19 from 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church (University Ave. and Division St. Cobourg) on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. Donations to your charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
