COCKBURN, William Douglas "Bill" (WWII Veteran, Past Pres. & Life Member RCL #133, Ret. Manager Brewers Retail) Peacefully at the Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg on Saturday, September 1st, 2012, Bill Cockburn at 89 years of age. Beloved husband for 66 years of the late Ivy Cockburn (nee Norman). Loving father of Ron Cockburn (Marg), Nancy Turpin (Gerry) and Linda Cockburn. Dear Puppa and grandpa of Brent (Krissy), Derek (Angie), Bryan, Jen, Kristen, and great Puppa of Kianna, Kaleea, and Genevieve. Also "Dad C" to Judy, Karen, Charles, Donna and Puppa Bill to many. Predeceased by his siblings Al, King, and Jean. Cremation with a Celebration of Life gathering to be held at MacCoubrey Funeral Home Reception Centre, 30 King St. E. in Cobourg on Thursday, September 6th, from 1 to 3 and 7 to 9 pm. Comrades of the R.C.L. Branch 133 will gather at the funeral home on Thursday at 6:30 pm for a Legion Service beginning at 6:45 pm. The family of Bill would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Michael Bayer, the staff of NHH 2A, 2B, Palliative Care, as well as the staff of Landmark Cobourg for their care and compassion.
