Bruce Howard Milne

Dr. Bruce Howard Milne DDS - Sept. 24, 1953 – Feb. 13, 2011 - Survived by his wife Susan, children Brook and Heather. Brother of Keith and the late Brian Milne. Bruce completed a BSc in Microbiology at the University of Guelph in 1976, and then went on to fulfill a lifetime dream when he graduated from U of T in Dentistry in 1984. He set up practice in Markham and relocated to Cobourg in 1997 where he set up a family dental practice. Bruce had a fun-loving and dedicated staff. He loved his family and friends deeply. His passions included golfing and skiing with the guys, summers at the cottage, woodworking as well as blues & jazz music. He fought a valiant battle against a neurological syndrome with grace & dignity, his smile winning over the hearts of all his many caregivers. At this time as a family we would like to give a heartfelt thanks to Bruce’s Personal Support Worker, Orlando Polanco who quickly formed a very special bond with Bruce. They enjoyed many good cups of coffee and walks along Cobourg’s waterfront, and Orlando’s tender compassionate care helped to sustain Bruce to his last days. Special thanks to caregiver’s Tom Day, Michael Swift, Diane Zweerink, Ken Sears; words cannot express our gratitude. Many thanks to the staff at Extendicare-Port Hope for their compassion and friendliness towards us as a family, and a special thank you for the way they embraced Bruce not only as a resident but as a family member. A Memorial Service will be held at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. E. in Cobourg on Saturday, February 19th, at 1 pm. Visitation to be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 18th from 7 to 9 pm.
