Kathleen Murray

August 9, 1928 - November 9, 2007

Kathleen (Kay) Murray (Meehan) (August 9, 1928 - Friday, November 9, 2007) Wife, mother, grandmother, and Irish beauty, Kathleen whose intuition, faith, and indomitable courage informed her family's conscience, passed away early Friday morning, at Wyndham Manor, in Oakville, just six months after the passing of Finn, her beloved husband of 57 years. From her immediate family she leaves behind her children, Kathleen (Paul) of Markham, Una, Bernadette (Michael) of Grafton, Joseph (Patricia) of London, Therese (Paul) of Naples, Florida, and Vincent, (Kathy) of Oakville. Beloved Grandma of Amanda, Julia, Tom, Andrew, Therese, Brittany, Veronica, and Maria. Kathleen, born in Ladyrath, Co. Meath, Ireland, emigrated to post-war Birmingham, England and revelled in the arrival of each of her babies. Kathleen's mission in life was to promote and instill the love of education in her children. Her pioneer spirit took her to the melting pots of Little Italy, Little Portugal, and Corktown, Toronto, as well as small town Oakville and Grafton, meeting up with people and cultures she would grow to love the rest of her life. She was a great fan of 50's cinema, CFRB and East Coast music and she retained her spontaneous appreciation for the beauty of everyday moments.
