On March 19th, 2025 Victoria Platonida Catton (nee Oliynek) passed away peacefully at the age of 88 surrounded by her family. She is survived by her loving husband Gordon Catton, sons Guy Catton (Sian) and Gord Catton, grandchildren Bryn (Samantha) and Rhian (Eric). Victoria is predeceased by parents Rev H.S. and Mrs. Domnika (Dora) Oliynek (Vitsku), brothers Arthur Oliynek and Rev. Harry E. Oliynek.
Victoria attended schools in Smokey Lake AB., Gardenton, MB., Komarno, MB., Sacred Heart in Yorkton, SK and Normal School in Tuxedo, MB. Victoria taught in Manitoba at Striy School (Armstrong) and Phoenix School (Headingley) as well as in Cooks Creek. After her marriage to Gordon in 1959 she continued supply teaching in Montreal, QC and Moncton, NB. Together Victoria and Gordon lived across Canada and spent many years travelling North America, making lifelong friends along the way.
Victoria was known for her creative talents in hand-quilting, sewing, painting and pysanky artistry. She will be remembered for her vibrant and colourful personality.

Celebration of life to be held at Grafton Legion on Saturday March 29th from 1 to 5pm.
