It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Marjorie, peacefully at Extendicare Port Hope. Beloved wife of the late Herbert Smith. Loving mother of James (Michele), Betty Hogg (Cameron) and predeceased by Beverly Peatman (Ken). Cherished grandmother of Sarah (Joshua), Jesse, Carly (Adam), Matthew, and Victoria. Great Grandmother of April, Jade, Lily, Owen, and Abby. Step grandmother of Trevor Hogg (Charlene), Kristy Connors (John) and great grandkids Jackson, Camrin, Samuel, Nickson, and Clementine. Survived by sisters and brothers Pearl Deacon (Don), Bill Kerslake (Freda), Don Kerslake (Brenda), and Shirley Garland (the late Don). Predeceased by Alvin Kerslake (Gladys and Jean), Marian Jackson (Frank) and Keith Kerslake (June). She will be missed by many brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends met over the years. We would like to express our gratitude to Palisade Gardens where she spent many years and especially to Extendicare – Port Hope where she spent the last few months for their exceptional care and compassion. Dear Family of Marjorie, I got to know Marjorie through my Pastoral Care visits from Trinity. I learned much about her love for family and teaching and her dog during those time and enjoyed the visits also. She is now with her Lord Jesus Christ who is the epitome of faithfulness and the living Word and experiencing every spiritual blessing that He has in the Kingdom of Heaven. Read Ephesians 1, it is just wonderful. The Peace of Christ which passes all understanding be with you and keep you till you are with Him.

She was the perfect person to spend the last half hour with as we drove home after a hectic afternoon shift at General Foods. Thanks for those times Marj. It seems like yesterday.
