Margaret Helen Young

November 26, 1935 - November 19, 2020

Margaret Helen Elizabeth Young (nee Forbes) 1935-2020 passed peacefully away November 19, reuniting with her beloved husband William, son Joseph, and sister Lois. Survived by her daughter Julie, son James, in-laws Bonnie, Grace, and Wayne, and her four cherished grandchildren Connor, Madison,
Ava, and Benjamin.

She was a wife, a mother, a sister, a grandmother, a friend, and an entirely beautiful person. Margaret, Marg, Mom, Nana; no matter what you called her she was a sweet, devoted, generous, loving person, who deeply cared for the people in her life. She never ceased expressing herself through music and dance, constantly tapping her toes; more often than not, it was to music that lived within her. Even after numerous hardships she continued to have a positive outlook and impact on those around her. Gardening, euchre, and curling kept her mind and body young but not as much as keeping up with her four grandchildren. Of all the things Margaret accomplished, it was being "Nana" that brought her the most profound joy.

Her life full of love, generosity, and unending gratitude will continue to live on in our memories. Like the butterflies she was so very fond of, she completed her life with grace and beauty.

A private burial ceremony for the family will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations to Diabetes Canada appreciated by the family.

James, Julie & families My condolences to the family on the passing of your dear mother. I was very sad and surprised to hear the news. Our little “curling group” had discussed going to see her as our fall outing. (Curling was how we all originally met). But alas, COVID interfered as it has in so many plans. It disturbs me to think we missed this opportunity to see her. She was a dear friend and was a most congenial member of our group. Although I was pleased at her moving to Cobourg to be near family I did miss not having her so close to be able to visit. We will miss her and her very pleasant quiet nature. Our thoughts are with you all.

Sylvia Guillemette - November 27, 2020

James and Julie, my deepest sympathies on the loss of your dear mother, Margaret. I have fond memories of her 2005 Arnprior visit that also included Lois, Sharon and Catherine. We had a great time. I'm keeping you and your families in my thoughts and prayers. Aunt Sylvia

Heidi Epp - November 27, 2020

It was such a privilege to have met her and visit with her some many times over the years as she would come out to visit the family. She was a real gem of a Nana! She will be greatly missed! My deepest condolences to you all.

Liz GRAYDON - November 26, 2020

James, Julie and families. I am so very sad to hear of Margs' passing. I have known Marg for at least 40 years. First we curled together and for the last 30+ years the "Curling Girls" have met 3 times a year for dinners or lunches...many out of town. Despite the tragedies in her life she was always a "glass half full" person. She loved to tell us about her children and grandchildren. She was so very proud of all of you. We will miss her kindness and cheerfulness. Loved the photo of her. My thoughts are with you all. Liz Graydon

Marg was such a “life of the party” lady. I remember her behaviour during Blue Jays games. A true fan, one might say. Her and Bill were class acts. So sorry for your loss James, Bonnie, Ava as well as Julie and family.
